Hard Candy Eyeshadow Duo

Rush Hour (top)     Secret Rendezvous (Bottom)
Rush Hour                        Secret Rendezvous

I've been using these duos for probably a month or so now and I am absolutely loving these. Hard Candy is only available at Walmart and these retails for $6 each. I love the quality of these shadows, pretty amazing considering how much you pay for these. The colors are on the shimmery side but not too shimmery as not to be wearable at daytime. The lighter colors are really nice for all over the lid and it gives your eyes some pop and dimension. The darker colors can either be used as your crease color or on your outer V. Sometimes I like to use the darker color in the Secret Rendezvous duo over my crease as a transitional color. It gives a nice, warm color when it meets with the highlight color under my brows. I also love that these colors are very blendable and buildable as well. It's very easy to work with, I'm just impressed by these shadows overall.

Milani 3D Holographic Nail Lacquer

I just got back from CVS and I'm really excited to blog about this nail polish. I've never tried anything from Milani before and so I thought I'd pick up some items from the brand. I had originally thought of buying a blush but then I saw this on the top of rack and I knew I had to get it. I'm not sure how many colors this particular kind has, all I saw on the shelf were blue, green, gray, and gold; and all of them have fine glitters in it. I actually like that the glitters are not chunky, makes it easier to apply and it dries pretty quickly, too! This reminds me of Teenage Dream from OPI's Katy Perry collection, I think this'll be a good dupe for that. I guess. Anywayss, I really like this color and we'll see how long this last. I'll keep you posted.

Clinique Superbalanced Makeup

Clinique Superbalanced MakeUp - No. 08 Porcelain Beige - 30ml/1oz
I tried quite a few foundations last year and a lot of them didn't really impress me. My first non-drugstore liquid foundation was Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup and I must say it worked wonders for me until the cold season started. One of its ingredients is Salicylic Acid which helps prevent pimples/acne however in the colder season it felt dry on my face. So I tried a few products like Mac Studio Fix Fluid, Make Up Forever HD foundation, Lancome Teint Miracle, and Estee Lauder Double Wear. Out of these 4, Mac Studio Fix gave me the most pimples and blemishes (sucks!). After trying these foundations I went back to Clinique to see if I could find something that's going to cover my pimple & scars without irritating them even more, and the lady at the counter suggested the Superbalanced Makeup. This product claims to hydrate dry areas and control oiliness. So I bought one and as soon as I got home I put it on. The first thing I noticed is smooth the finish and the lightweight feel on my face. Most liquid foundations don't sit well on my skin no matter how I blend it (with a brush, a sponge, or my fingers), they tend to be either cakey, streaky, and define the lines on some areas of my face ... this foundation actually surprised me a lot -- didn't do any of that. The finish is so natural, I can't even tell I have foundation on! On top of that, it doesn't have a funky smell like others do. Plussss... it's less expensive compared to other high-end brands. I just love it! I think I finally found my holy grail foundation but that doesn't mean though that I'm going to stop trying other products (lol!). I just like to discover new products and see what works and doesn't work for me. ♥

What's wild about Wet 'n Wild?

Have you guys seen Wet 'n Wild trios/quads/palette in your drugstore lately? I know. I picked up a couple of trios yesterday @ Walgreens. Heard a lot of people rave about the Color Icon collection and I couldn't resist, so I went out and had to check them out myself! So here's what I got:

Sweet As Candy                     Cool As Cucumber
$2.95 each

To be quite honest, I am not so sure I like them that much. I used Cool As Cucumber yesterday and I thought the colors are okay. I had it on for a good 3 hours and I noticed the colors faded so I had to retouch. Early this morning (yes, I was up at 4am ... hubby woke me up) I used the same trio again to see if I'd notice anything else. Well, the colors are blendable BUT when I tried to blend them too well, the colors just disappeared! Reminds me a lot of Elf Eyeshadows. Then I tried the other trio and I'm not too crazy about this one either. Sweet As Candy is very powdery, when you put it on it looks like you put on baby powder on your lids. Maybe it's the color -- the salmony & highlight colors -- they're too light for my skin tone. I am NC30-35 by the way. But still, eyeshadows shouldn't look & feel that way. To sum it up, I think these shadows are comparable to ELF. Quality isn't great but you get what you paid for.

Hello World :]

Can't believe I'd be blogging again after a long while. I was a Xanga blogger about 5 or 6 years ago, blogged about anything that came to mind. Now I am back with a purpose, I guess. I set up this blog to share my thoughts on my new-found interest -- makeup.

I know a lot of you have seen blogs like this everywhere but I'd like to give my own thoughts as well. Sharing is good, don't you agree?
