I tried quite a few foundations last year and a lot of them didn't really impress me. My first non-drugstore liquid foundation was Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup and I must say it worked wonders for me until the cold season started. One of its ingredients is Salicylic Acid which helps prevent pimples/acne however in the colder season it felt dry on my face. So I tried a few products like Mac Studio Fix Fluid, Make Up Forever HD foundation, Lancome Teint Miracle, and Estee Lauder Double Wear. Out of these 4, Mac Studio Fix gave me the most pimples and blemishes (sucks!). After trying these foundations I went back to Clinique to see if I could find something that's going to cover my pimple & scars without irritating them even more, and the lady at the counter suggested the Superbalanced Makeup. This product claims to hydrate dry areas and control oiliness. So I bought one and as soon as I got home I put it on. The first thing I noticed is smooth the finish and the lightweight feel on my face. Most liquid foundations don't sit well on my skin no matter how I blend it (with a brush, a sponge, or my fingers), they tend to be either cakey, streaky, and define the lines on some areas of my face ... this foundation actually surprised me a lot -- didn't do any of that. The finish is so natural, I can't even tell I have foundation on! On top of that, it doesn't have a funky smell like others do. Plussss... it's less expensive compared to other high-end brands. I just love it! I think I finally found my holy grail foundation but that doesn't mean though that I'm going to stop trying other products (lol!). I just like to discover new products and see what works and doesn't work for me. ♥
